– Ice-O-Matic recommends cleaning every 6 months, but not more than once a month.

– Cleaning frequency depends on water quality and filtration systems.

– Operators should decide the optimal cleaning schedule for their environment.

– Cleaning does not eliminate microbes; sanitization is necessary afterward.

– Use a “nickel-safe” cleaner like NuCalgon Nickel-Safe Ice Machine Cleaner.

– Typical cleaner composition:

– Water: 53% to 82%

– Phosphoric Acid: 15% to 40%

– Citric Acid: 3% to 7%

– For CIM models revision 4 and higher, KAY® Delimer can be used (citric acid 5-10%).

– Cleaning should be done by a trained technician per the Installation and Service Manuals.
